I’d like to thank everyone that attended especially Micheal Anissimov who does so much to educate the world about existential risks and the implications of exponential trends in technological growth.
It was really cool to meet people that read this blog and I’m finding out that those who read Blogging the Singularity are intelligent, creative, and caring people.
Those who are working hardest on making the H+ and S+ futures happen are too busy working to educate the public and that’s where we come in. If you are reading this blog then you are in the know and have a responsibility to ensure that these ideas make it into the general public sooner rather than later. The sooner the public becomes aware of how quickly and how drastic change could come, the better prepared humanity will be to tackle the challenges ahead.
Visit H+ Cafe, write a blog, place a badge on your websites, upload pictures, video, or art, and chat with one another…create content that will add to the discussion and join the movement to educate society so that rational minds can make rational decisions regarding the future of humanity.
Other organizations concerned citizens should consider joining is the Lifeboat Foundation or Methuselah Foundation.
Whether they believe it now or not, at least the seed of reason will have been sowed before the reality of exponential technological advancement rains upon humanity.
And if there is no Singularity? Then at least we didn’t resort to name-calling to try and prove our point! (see: ‘”male nerd” in this blog post)
We’re just concerned, and for a good reason, because we actually give a damn about the future of this precious species and planet and are NOT willing to ignore ANYTHING that has the potential to destroy it.
